چکیده
Objectives: This study was performed to evaluate characteristics and their prognostic value of video-head impulse test (vHIT) in sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) with vertigo. Methods: Of the 612 patients a diagnosis SSNHL from 2010 2018, 110 (18.0%) vertigo 39 (6.4%) vHIT results were recruited. The evaluated for pure-tone average (at initial, 1-month, 6-month visit), presence re-fixation saccade gains at vHIT, canal paresis (CP) ccaloric test. Results: Patients (+) showed higher averages than those (‒) on initial follow-up audiograms. improvement less group group. There no significant difference recovery between normal gain decreased gain. CP groups according saccade. Conclusions: Concurrent is negative factor function SSNHL. Re-fixation may suggest widespread damages both cochlea vestibule, leading poor prognosis.

Studying VEMP in Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss
Introduction: Sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) has a prevalence of 10 in 100,000. Viral infections, vascular obstruction and rupture of the intracochlear membranes are supposed to be its most common etiologies. About 40% of patients experience vertigo or imbalance. The VEMP (vestibular evoked myogenic potentials) test is a known approach for detailed study of the labyrinth. The advant...
